I got tanked at that island bar again last night. There weren’t any midgets in attendance but there were a whole lot of drunk oil guys from New Jersey. They’re in town installing some sort of pipeline out west and they were kicking back some drinks after work. I hit it off with them right away and we ended up pounding shots in the pouring rain. Seriously, it was like monsooning for a while last night. I was at the bar a total of about 4 hours and when I left there was more than a foot of rainwater in the parking lot. There were Kayaks for rent in this little booth and I was totally considering renting one and taking it for a spin around the parking lot like it was post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans or something.
